Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
